Administration, System Administration, and Moderation

These ranks are only awarded to active team members. Outsiders cannot apply for these ranks. They take on great responsibility in organizational and administrative areas, and their positions require intensive knowledge of Timolia’s internal structure.

Development

By submitting an application via our application form at apply.timolia.de, you can apply as a developer at any time. In addition to the ability to work in a team, we require a minimum age of 14 years. Your application letter should include your ingame name, a brief description of yourself, a presentation of your skills and competencies, and contact information. As a developer, your main task is to implement ideas and projects for Timolia ingame or on our web platforms. The degree to which you freely contribute your own ideas for implementation and design depends on your own wishes and the nature of the project. The team is always available to provide advice.

Naturally, the developers’ workflow always includes testing and fixing bugs (which shouldn’t actually be there, that makes no sense, huh?!). And very importantly: if you ever get stuck, the Dev(+) and Admin team always help each other out! You will rarely encounter restrictions in your work; wherever you want to help, you are always welcome with other development environments of your choice, even outside of IntelliJ or Eclipse. To ensure that everything runs smoothly across the entire team, there are, of course, certain requirements we place on our team in general and on all developers in particular.

What we look for in Plugin Development

• Extensive knowledge of Java and the Spigot API/Velocity API
• Prior experience in the tasks of Minecraft development
• Timely handling of projects
• Basic knowledge of the English language

Optional:

• Experience with Git
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Sound prior knowledge of Timolia

What we look for in Web Development

• Extensive knowledge of PHP, Symfony, and JavaScript
• Timely handling of projects
• Basic knowledge of the English language

Optional:

• Sound prior knowledge of Timolia

For a successful application, it is necessary to provide us with a small insight into projects you have already completed and their source code. Ideally, this should be hosted on GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, or a similar platform, as we do not accept source code as a simple file. We primarily look for clean, well-commented code that reflects your skills. You should also ensure compliance with Java conventions and avoid using obsolete instructions.

Team members of the Development+ rank have many years of experience as developers on Timolia and are available for internal development questions. Applications for this rank are therefore not possible.

Support

If new team members are needed in the support area, the team checks which players are particularly active on the network and stand out positively. By “standing out positively,” we mean, among other things, a good report statistic, no serious violations of our rules, and activity on other platforms such as the forum, TeamSpeak, and Discord (and possibly Twitter).

Additionally, there is the possibility to send an unsolicited application via the form at apply.timolia.de, which should include your ingame name, an introduction of yourself, and descriptions of your previous experiences. We strive to complete the application process as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, under certain circumstances, this process can take over a month. Please also note that you must be at least 14 years old for an unsolicited application and to be accepted into the Timolia team.

Since the Support+ rank represents a promotion for particularly experienced supporters, no applications for this rank are possible.

Building / Timolia Creative

Are you familiar with Building, Modeling, MC Bedrock Scripting and/or Texture Design and interested in contributing to these areas with us and developing yourself further? At Timolia Creative, you have the opportunity to participate in exciting projects that can go far beyond standard building.

Interested? Apply at any time with a meaningful portfolio via the application form at apply.timolia.de. Please note that you must be at least 16 years old to be accepted into the Timolia Creative team.

The Heads of Building form Timolia’s building team management. Since these are team members with many years of experience and excellent knowledge of Timolia’s internal team structures, an application for this rank is not possible.

Content

You can apply for Content via the application form at apply.timolia.de. It is important that you provide us with your ingame name, a short personal description, an overview of your previous work/experience, as well as examples of your work. Depending on which creative area you want to apply for, you will need the following skills:

Social Media

• Basic knowledge of image composition and image editing
• Basic knowledge of video production, editing, and other post-production for the focus of (YouTube/TikTok) video production
• Creativity; linguistic skills
• Knowledge of Timolia’s design and creative structure

Game Design

• Independent brainstorming and implementation of concepts
• Extensive knowledge of the newer Minecraft Java Edition versions
• Good spoken and written knowledge of the German language
• Quality assurance of the implemented ideas & concepts
